Thomas J. Johnson Jr.

Thomas Johnson, Jr. (Sonny) age 82, of Shannon, MS was called home on June
17, 2023, with family by his side. He was born on March 10, 1941 to the late
Thomas Johnson, Sr. and Mamie Osborne Johnson. He accepted Christ at an
early age.
He was a retire employee of Tupelo Water and Light, where he worked for 40
years. He was a friendly person. He loved grilling and cooking.
Thomas leaves to cherish his memories; five children: Mechelle Johnson
Cummings, Lisa Johnson Springer, Keith Johnson, Titus Johnson, and Stacey
Johnson (Kimberlyn); three grandchildren were raised in the home Whitney
Johnson, JaQuay Johnson both of Shannon, MS; one sister, Eula Johnson of
Tupelo, MS; one sister-in-law, Margaret Jordan (George) of Kansas City, MO;
three brothers-in-law: Wardell Ford (Aglean); Henry Ford (Renita) and Arthur
Ford; a special granddaughter, Aliya Adkins who helped him when his health
started to decline; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and a host of
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Ford Johnson; his parents,
Mamie Johnson and Thomas Johnson, Sr.; sister, Rosie Johnson; brother,
Tommie Nabors; and a special nephew, Ronnie Johnson.
