Dwight “Pete” Lee Reece

Dwight "Pete" Lee Reece, 73, departed from this life on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born on January 08, 1950, in Webster County to the late Molly Lou Reece and Andrew Vandiver Reece.

Pete was a graduate of Bruce High School Class of 1970. He served his state and country by serving in the Mississippi National Guard. Pete also worked in the food industry in quality control precision. He was a former member of the Bruce Police Department. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking, listening to music, and hanging out with his dog Tiddles. Pete also enjoyed being outdoors and working in his garden.

Pete leaves behind his two daughters: Brandy (Mark) Reece of Bruce; Amanda (Wesley) Pratt of Banner; son, Joshua (Mistie) Reece of Bruce; two sisters: Joyce and Shelia; two brothers: Ralph and James; eight grandchildren: Breanna Westmoreland, Brittany (Gary) Owen, Kytan Reece, Tristan Reece, Tyler Redwine, Makayla Poynor, Myranda (Zach) Capps, and Logan Redwine. One great-grandchild, Khloi Coleman.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Molly Lou Reece and Andrew Vandiver Reece; brother, Bobby Reece.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. The funeral service honoring Pete's life will take place on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. James Taylor officiating.
