Eddy Laverne McGinnis, 74, passed into his heavenly home Monday, February 12, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Eddy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Angie Blankenship McGinnis, his son Edward McGinnis and wife Stephanie, all of Sturgis, MS and his daughter, Amy McGinnis Woody and husband Jay of Oakland, TN. Eddy treasured being “PopPop” to his grandchildren, Elizabeth Reign and Edward Adam Woody and his grandpups, Mack and Beau.
Eddy is survived by sister Francis Bucci of Salinas, CA, Ruby Nell McClelland of Mathiston, MS, Martha Sulfridge of Sarah, MS, Dicie Avant and Betty Westbrook of Sturgis, MS and brother Billy Gray McGinnis of Wellton, AZ.
Preceding Eddy in death were his parents Bilbo and Mary Alice Gray McGinnis, his brothers James, Marvin, Roy and Charles McGinnis and sisters, Everlena Ballard and Mary Lou Jones.
Left also to treasure his memory are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Eddy served the Lord faithfully at Sturgis Baptist Church where his service will be led by Bro. Brad Creely and Bro. Russell Mord on Thursday, February 15, 2024. Visitation hour will be from 1-3 pm with services to follow. Interment will be at Wake Forest Cemetery in Sturgis, MS.
