Sandra Carol Johnson,72, of Houlka, MS, a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, at her North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Born on July 22, 1952, in Vardaman, Mississippi, Sandra spent her life dedicated to her family and her work as a sewing machine operator in the furniture industry. Her wisdom and creativity were boundless, reflected in her passions for crafting, reading, puzzles, and shopping.
Sandra was a devoted mother to her three daughters: Amanda (Doug) Hutchens of Calhoun City, MS, Susan (Robert) Brassfield of Houston, MS, Tiffany (William) Hamblin of Houlka, MS, who found in her unwavering support and love a foundation upon which they built their lives. She is also survived by daughter-in-laws, Becky Harrison of Calhoun City, MS, Lori Harrison, of Woodland, MS, sisters, Peggy (Sidney) Parker of Calhoun City, MS and Brenda (Mike) Lollar of Houston, MS, and sister-in-law Cathy Baker of Vardaman, MS. Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren—Constance Good, Nathan Williams, Brittney Brassfield, Chris Harrison, Matthew Harrison, John Brassfield, Summer Brassfield, Dawn Brassfield, Morgan Harrison, Allyson Harrison, Riley Easley, Deanna Easley, and Anna Easley—and will continue to grow with her 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, James Talmon Johnson, father, Walter "Pete" Moses Baker, mother, Jennie Lynn Chandler Baker, brother, Carl Samuel Baker, son's, Christopher Sean Harrison and Bobby Harrison.
Sandra will be remembered for her joyous spirit and love for life, sharing laughter and love with all who knew her. Those who knew her will recall her warm, generous nature and her knack for nurturing meaningful connections. Her love for flowers and the serenity they bring is echoed in the lives she touched.
A visitation for Sandra will take place at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Vardaman on April 4, 2025, at 12:00 PM. A funeral service will follow in the Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM, officiated by Bro. Paul Brassfield and Bro. Charlie Hamblin. celebrating her life and the profound impact she made on those around her. She will be lovingly laid to rest in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Lee Baker, John Robert Brassfield, Chris Harrison, Matthew Harrison, Bo Howell, Jeff Howell, Kenny Melton, and Michael Williams will be serving as Pallbearers. Mike Brassfield, Robert Brassfield, Riley Easley, Jerry Dale Good, William Hamblin, Doug Hutchins, Everette Parker, Sidney Parker, and Nathan Williams will be serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
As we gather to honor the life of Sandra Carol Johnson, let us celebrate the beauty of her spirit, the warmth of her love, and the legacy of kindness she leaves behind. She will forever be missed but never forgotten.
