Stewart Craig Robinson, Sr.

August 28, 1951 ~ May 7, 2025

Stewart Craig Robinson, Sr. (73) went home to be with his Lord Jesus on the morning of May 7, 2025, at his home in Oxford, MS. After a nearly fatal heart attack in 1988, he lived 37 more years with an enlarged heart in every sense of those words. He was known for his abundance of love, patience, kindness, and generosity to others. He did not take time for granted and lived every day as a good gift from God his creator.

Born August 28, 1951, in Jackson, Mississippi, his life was spent on many loves with first and foremost being Jesus Christ followed by his family, banking, and all things Ole Miss. He married his beloved bride of 52 years, Vicki Lyles Robinson, in 1973. They share two children, Alison Robinson Cannon (George William Cannon) and Stewart Craig Robinson, Jr. (Abbie Sightler Robinson). He was the proud grandfather to his three granddaughters Macy Elizabeth Robinson, Audrey Paige Robinson, and Keaton Anne Cannon. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Atkinson Robinson, Jr. and Marion Howard Robinson of Jackson, Mississippi.

Craig was a covenant child raised at First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, Mississippi. He and Vicki credit this church with nurturing the early years of their faith and marriage. Through all their moves, the church remained a vital role and was always the community upon which they centered their lives. They were blessed to be able to minister to others and to be ministered to by the body of Christ. Craig delighted to share his faith and reminded everyone along the way that eternity with Jesus is all that matters.

During the 51 years of his much-loved banking career, Craig served in a variety of leadership roles across Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and Tennessee. He delighted to discuss banking and help anyone with their financial needs. He especially loved to invest in younger bankers and help them make professional connections to further their careers.

A lifelong Ole Miss fan, he loved his Rebels win or lose. When others would give up or grumble about the ending of a game, he would remind us all that caring for the players was more important than the outcome. He felt blessed to return to Oxford to live out his final years attending events at the campus he loved.

A family burial was held at Eastover Memorial Cemetery in Oxford, Mississippi. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 13th, 2025 at 11:00 am at Christ Presbyterian Church, 901 Sisk Avenue Oxford, Mississippi.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Reform Theological Seminary (www.rts.edu), Ole Miss RUF (www.ruf.org), Ole Miss FCA (www.olemissfca.org), or French Camp Academy (www.frenchcamp.org).
