Baldwyn- Cheryl Lytal, 81, passed away on Friday, May 09, 2025 at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility. Cheryl always had a smile on her face, never met a stranger and loved everyone. She was a former employee of NMMC and Baldwyn Unit Hospital. A former education secretary at Parkway Baptist Church, Jackson, MS, Calvary Baptist Church, Tupelo and West Jackson Street Baptist Church. She was currently and active member at First Baptist Church, Baldwyn.

Services will be at Waters Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Huddleston officiating. Visitation Tuesday, May 13, 2025 @ 1:00 p. m. with the funeral service immediately following @ 2:00 p. m. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include her sister, Martha Duncan of Mantachie; brother, Tony Bailey (Kandye) of Guntown; step-daughter, Allison Carnathan of Tupelo and two-step-grandsons, Braden Carnathan of Greenville, TN and Bryce Carnathan of Tupelo; two nieces, Dawn Caygle (Vern) of Mantachie and Cassie Flanagin (Cory) of Raton, NM; three nephews, Billy Jefferies (Dana) of Oxford, Scott Jefferies (Kelly) of Nesbit and Mitch Bailey (Lori) of Guntown; six great-nephews, Channing and Clay Caygle, Cohen Jefferies of Mantachie and MJ Bailey of Guntown, Owen and Andrew Flanagin of Raton, NM; five great-nieces, Kylie Jefferies of Mantachie, McKinzie and Sadie Flanagin of Raton, NM, Madilyn Bailey of Guntown and Katelyn Jefferies of Oxford; step-great-nephew, Trey Parker of Oxford and a step-great-niece, Morgan Campbell of Hilton Head, SC; two sisters-in-law, Betty Billingsley of Tupelo and Debbie Arnold (Danny) of Baldwyn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lytal; her mother, Luna Griffin Bailey; father, Ray Bailey; brother, Marion Bailey and a brother-in-law, Richard Duncan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her memory to First Baptist Church, Baldwyn.
