Mrs. Barbara Shayer Kurmaskie, 68, died Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at her home in Oxford, Mississippi. There are no services planned at this time.
Barbara was born on October 22, 1956, in Hartford, Connecticut, to the late Dorothy Zifcak and Wallace Shayer. She worked as a receptionist in the optometry field until her retirement. In her free time, Barbara loved life’s simple pleasures, like gardening and cooking. She especially loved to travel, enjoying many trips to the beach.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Jay Kurmaskie of Oxford, Mississippi; daughter, Lindsey LaBarba and her husband, Nick, of Little Rock, Arkansas; and son, Jason Kurmaskie of Dallas, Texas.
