Mr. Minta Miles Craig, 83, died Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital- Booneville. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. in Eastover Memorial Cemetery with Rev, Marty Evans officiating.
Minta was born on March 2, 1942, in Memphis, TN to the late Minta and Ruby Miles Craig. He graduated from Parkin High School in Parkin, AR in 1960 before attending Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. After three and a half years at Arkansas State, he proudly enlisted in The United States Air Force where he earned the rank of Seargent. He served in the security division in a top-secret position monitoring any activity that came in over morse code. Minta was married for 46 years to Bonnie Calfee Craig who passed away in July of 2022. Minta worked at Ole Miss for 31 years as a manager in the Printing and Graphic Arts Department before retiring. Together, Minta and Bonnie enjoyed local restaurants like The Beacon and The Sizzler and loved traveling. He very much enjoyed being outdoors, either fishing or hunting deer, and loved Razorback sports even though he worked and made his home in the town of Rebels. In addition to his wife and parents, Minta was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Preston Craig.
Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Hancock (Ben) of Fayetteville, AR and Stacey Canady (Michael) of Springdale, AR; a sister-in-law, Sandra C. Warren of Oxford, MS; brothers-in-law, Harvey L. Calfee (Delorse) of Oxford, MS, Pat E. Calfee of Taylor, MS; one granddaughter, Abigail “Abby” Hancock as well as one step-granddaughter, three nieces, two nephews, one great-niece, eight great-nephews, and two great-great-nephews.
