Jerry Ryan passed away at the Sanctuary Hospice House on Tuesday,February 17th, 2026, after a long, brave fight with cancer. He was born on February 22, 1950, to Gerald and Elizabeth Carlock Ryan. Jerry was a Tupelo police officer with the first ever Harley-David motorcycle unit for many years. He later joined the car sales business until his retirement. He was also a veteran of the Mississippi Army National Guard. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and also loved cooking on his grill.
He is survived by his son Scott Ryan and his wife Jessica of the Unity Community, his younger brother Mike Ryan and his wife, Jan, of Houston, TX., his grandchildren: Lucas, Ainsley, Lainie, Lily, Carson, and Maddox Ryan. He also leaves his nieces Katie Ryan Patronis and her husband, Jimmy, of Panama City Beach, Florida, and Natalie Ryan, also of Panama City Beach, Florida, Leigh Ryan Mayo of Nashville, Tennessee, and Jody Ryan Wilson of Nashville, Tennessee, and one nephew, Geoffrey Ryan, and his wife, Laura, of Vail, Colorado.
Funeral services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Sunday, February 21, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Tim Green officiating and Ainsley Ryan giving the eulogy.
He also leaves behind many special friends, including Butch and Cathy Edwards, Lou Ann White, Darla Ryan, and his daughter-in-law, Nichole Ryan Davis of Biloxi, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his wonderful and Godly parents, Gerald and Elizabeth Carlock Ryan, his wife Belinda Ryan, his beloved son Craig Ryan, and his older brother Larry Ryan.
His pallbearers are David Hill, Butch Edwards, Clay Carlock, Geoffrey Ryan, and Mike Ryan.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home.
