Kirkville- Larry G. Pounds, 79, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at the NMMC. He enjoyed watching all Ole Miss sports and anything pertaining to Ole Miss, playing dominoes, fishing and feeding his pet raccoons behind his house. He was a brick mason and a Baptist.

Funeral services will be at Waters Funeral Home on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 2:00 p. m. with Bro. Dwight Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Kirkville Cemetery.

He is survived by his son, Scotty Pounds (Casey) of Mantachie; two sisters, Brenda Roberts (Terry) of Pratt and Judy Barnes of Kirkville; grandson, Bryson Pounds of Kirkville; two nieces, Christie Beasley (Bryan) and Amber Russell (Jeremy); nephews, Michael Roberts (Christy), Jamie Roberts (Demi) and Tracy Barnes (Amber); host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene Pounds and Betty Malone Pounds; two brothers, Ricky Pounds and Eddie Pounds; nephew, Brett Pounds.

Pallbearers will be Jay Mansell, Bryson Pounds, Kaiden Kennedy, Bryan Beasley, Noah Beasley, Tracy Barnes, Keith Pounds and Andy Roberts.

Visitation will be Saturday at Waters Funeral Home from noon until 2:00 p.m.
