Doris Marie McClain Danovsky

August 17, 1948 – February 17, 2020

Mrs. Doris Marie McClain Danovsky, 71, passed away on February 17, 2020 at her residence in West Point. Doris was born on August 17, 1948, in West Point, the daughter of the late John Edward and Ruby Sanders McClain. She was a graduate of the Mississippi University for Women in Columbus where she earned a Master of Science Degree. She worked for the City of West Point Water and Light Department for 34 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in West Point, where she was a member of the JOY Club. Being an animal lover, she fostered animals from the local animal shelter. She was an avid and accomplished marksman. She loved gardening, fishing, and especially spending time with her grands. She married Jack Danovsky on June 28, 1970, at Calvary Baptist Church in West Point.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 20, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Towery officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband: Jack Danovsky of West Point: one daughter, Ashley Henley (David) of West Point: two sons, Brian Danovsky and Shane Danovsky (April), both of West Point: four granddaughters: Hannah Hamburg of West Point, Katlyn Cole of Lawton, Oklahoma, Carleigh Danovsky of West Point, and Ainsley Danovsky of West Point: six grandsons: Zane Crosswhite of Birmingham, Alabama, Gage Hamburg of Loxley, Alabama, Logan Danovsky of Pensacola, Florida, Drew Wright of West Point, Brody Wright of West Point, and David Henley, Jr., of West Point: two great-grandchildren; Rhylen Crosswhite of West Point and Clay Cole of Lawton, Oklahoma, one brother, Larry McClain of Gulf Shores, Alabama and her mother-in-law, Ardell Danovsky of West Point.

Pallbearers will be Shane Danovsky, Brian Danovsky, Gage Hamburg, Drew Wright, Brody Wright, Logan Danovsky, and David Henley.

Honorary Pallbearers will be The Nurses and Staff of Baptist Hospice.
