Gloria Ann Johnson McGee, known to her family and friends as "Sut" departed this life on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Pioneer Community Hospital, Aberdeen, MS. She was born to the late Willie O. and Ruby Mae Johnson on May 21, 1941. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with Darden Chapel M. B. Church. She was faithful member of the Mother Board until her health failed.
She was united in marriage to David R. McGee, Sr. To this union 11 children were born. Three preceded her in death (Tommy Ray, Kim and Deancynt).
She was always willing to help anyone in the neighborhood. No one went hungry if they came by her house. She had a love for cooking and loved her flowers. She will be dearly missed.
Her memories will be forever in the hearts of her children: (3) sons: David R. (Nancy) McGee, Jr., Frank S. (Bessie) McGee, Aberdeen, MS and Bernard (Emma) McGee, Amory, MS. (5) daughters: Gloria J. McGee, Aberdeen, MS, Lois (Jim) Hutchinson, Hamilton, MS, Bridget (Roger) McGee, Tupelo, MS, Shonda (William) Hampton and Carla (Mike) Beasley, Okolona, MS. (4) sisters: Jeraldine Campbell, Chicago, IL., Shirley Doss, Mildred Ewing and Allison Carr, Aberdeen, MS. (3) brothers: Kenneth Johnson, West Point, MS, Elzie Johnson, Aberdeen, MS, Terry Johnson, Okolona, MS. Three brothers preceded her in death: Roger, Cleveland and Eddie Johnson. A loving step mother, Eva Mae Johnson, Aberdeen, MS. (11) step brothers and sisters; (3) step brothers and (2) step sisters preceded her in death. One special stepsister, Irene Simpson Vasser. (16) grandchildren, (12) great grandchildren; (3) sister-n-laws; Jo A. Johnson and Shirley Johnson, St. Louis, MO, Willie M. Johnson, Aberdeen, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Two special neighbors: Celeste Ford and Earnestine Ware. One special friend, Jemmia Washington, whom she talked on the phone with daily. A special care taker, Donna Davidson.
