Melanie W. Smith, 58, passed away on January 29, 2020 at her residence in West Point. Melanie was born on September 11, 1961, in Clay County, the daughter of Patricia "Pat" Bowie and the late William Wayne Bowie. Melanie worked at B&S Cleaners in West Point as a cashier for 20 years. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her father William Wayne Bowie, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lisa Watson and Terron Bowie.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 12:00-2:00 PM at Calvert Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Owen Hitchcock officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Casey Price (Jimmy); her two sons, Allen Ray Earnest, Jr. and Joshua Earnest, six grandchildren, and her mother, Pat Bowie, all of West Point.
