Jimmy Cleve Peacock, age 88, of Water Valley, MS died Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at his home in Water Valley. He was born January 23, 1932 in Water Valley, MS to the late Cleveland and Anna (Bonds) Peacock. After graduating, Jimmy worked as a brakeman for Illinois Central Railroad until joining the Air force in 1951 to serve during the Korean conflict. After an honorable discharge, he went to work for Gordon Transport Service in Memphis, TN. He loved hunting, fishing, and football, with a fondness for the Ole Miss Rebels, New Orleans Saints, and Dallas Cowboys.
A private family gathering will be held Friday, March 27, 2020 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. A memorial service to honor his memory will take place after the current national crisis has passed.
Jimmy is survived by one son, Jonathan Peacock of Memphis, TN; and one sister, Gay Peacock Flora, of Water Valley, MS.
Along with his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Carolyn Jo Peacock; and one son, James Clayton Peacock.
