Jacqueline (Jackie) Annette Rogers-Lewis was born November 16, 1971 to Martha Rogers Telford. She departed this life Sunday, March 29, 2020 at her mother’s home.
Jackie was raised in the home of her maternal grandparents Charlie and Jeannette Rogers. She joined in fellowship with Oak Grove C.M.E. Church at an early age and continued her membership there until she moved to Senatobia, MS. She was a 1989 graduate of Water Valley High School and furthered her education at Northwest Community College. Her employment began as a teacher’s assistant at Davidson Elementary School until relocating to Senatobia, MS where she found employment with the Mississippi Gaming Commission as an auditor. She remained employed there until her health begin to fail.
Jackie was a very outgoing person who never met a stranger. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. Her children shared fond memories of warm summer days as they went fishing during the morning and picked plums in the afternoon. She kept everyone laughing with her comical personality.
She married Kenney Lewis May 17, 2003. No children were born to this union, but they lovingly raised a blended family of 3 children. She is survived by a daughter Audreanna Wise (Juan Porter) of Orlando, Florida, a son D’Ante Rogers (Marqua) of Oxford, MS and a stepson Jayllen Culpepper of Atlanta, GA, her mother and father Martha & Wilton Telford of Water Valley, MS, four brothers, Michael Telford and Markee Telford (Jessica), Vernon D. Rogers all of Water Valley, MS and Marcus Johnson (DeLeah) of Oxford, MS, two sisters Vickie McGee and Deborah Woodard of Water Valley, MS, five grandchildren who were the apple of her eyes, Ashton Rogers, Kamyia Cathey, Harmony Rogers, Karsyn Porter and Christian Harris, two aunts and four uncles from her childhood home, Janet Telford (George), Donna Blake (Terry), Venon Rogers Jr., Tommy Rogers, Kenneth Rogers all of Water Valley, MS and Charles Rogers (Angela) of Jackson, MS, Kenny Lewis of Senatobia, MS and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
Jackie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charlie and Jeannette Rogers, Deola Johnson, and one uncle, Danny Rogers.
Due to the outbreak of the Corona (COVID-19) Virus. The visitation and graveside service will be private just for the immediate family members.
