Cassie Mae Hill, 92, passed from this life on the 1st day of April, 2020, at New Albany Health & Rehab Center.  Mrs. Hill was born on September 27, 1927, in Lafayette County, Mississippi, the daughter of the late William Lee and Annie Price Hill.  She was a member of CME Methodist Church of New Albany, and was a retired garment worker of Swabbe Shirt Factory.  She was known for the prolific vegetable gardens that she grew and cared for each year.

Mrs. Hill leaves to cherish her memories, her only son, Charles E. Wade and his wife, Bobbie J. Wade of New Albany; two grandchildren, Rodney F Wade and Tessia A. Wade; two great-grandchildren, L. Kateland Wade and Hunter Wade; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and eight sisters.

A private graveside service will be held at 2:00 P. M., Friday, April 3rd, 2020, in Glenfield Memorial Park with Reverend Burt Skipwith, officiating.

  1. Hello Charles. Just a few words on your behalf. Aunt Cassie was do dear to me. You may not know it, but Aunt Cassie bought my class ring in 1965 and after I got married and got a job… I paid her back. I also stayed with her on Oak Street do that I could go to class at night, because someone had misplaced our books. That why I visited her. She was so funny and she didn’t even know it. You take care. Love you ♥️.
