TUPELO – Gregory Lawrence Pitts, 74, died at his daughter’s residence from complications of a stroke in the early morning hours of April 8, 2020.  Greg was born in New Haven, Connecticut on September 20, 1945 to the late Lawrence Pitts and Janette Hill Pitts Constantino. He grew up there and lived for several years in the Chicago, IL area. He and his late wife, Vickie Lynn Pitts, who died on Oct. 15, 2006, moved to the Tupelo area in 1989.  Greg served as a policeman with the Tupelo Police Department.  After his law enforcement career, he worked in the construction industry and as a private investigator.  He loved guns and shooting ranges, watching boxing on TV, and talking/arguing with anyone who would give him two seconds.

Greg is survived by his children, Courtney Pitts and Tiffany Peay, both of Tupelo, and Kim Pitts of Florida; three grandsons, Christian, Carter and Hudson; a sister, Jackie Smaga of New Haven, CN; and three brothers, Richard Pitts, and Jeff and Arthur Constantino, all of the New Haven area. He was preceded in death by his 10-year-old son, Gregory Pitts.
