Danny (Danny Boy) McKinzie was born the sixth of ten children of Sam Adam McKinzie and Mary Lee Knox McKinzie on 20 July 1960.  On 11 April 2020, Danny lost his fight to cancer after eighteen months but won the battle.  Danny attended Blue Mountain High School but joined the Navy before he graduated.  11 December 1978 he was shipped off to bootcamp in Orlando, FL.  He graduated Aviation Structural Mechanic “A” school 3 July 1979 and received orders to Naval Air Station Miramar San Diego, CA at the Navy Fighter Weapons School Command.  On 25th of April 1980 he got his General Educational Development (GED) while in the military.  He was advanced to the pay grade Petty Officer 3rd class, received the Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal and Honorable Discharge Button.  Danny was discharged from active duty 19 December 1982 and the Navy Ready Reserve 13 June 1986.

He leaves to cherish his memories four brother and seven sisters.  Samuel (Peggy) McKinzie of Pontotoc, MS, Martha (Albert) Smith, Carolyn (Norris) Smith, Mary Jane (Jefferson) Graham, and Darnell McKinzie all of New Albany, MS.  Deborah (Willie) Williams of Atlanta, GA, Auther McKinzie of Blue Mountain, MS, Paulette (Alex) Bailey of Myrtle, MS, Jackie (Joseph) Park of Indian, Dwight (Linda) of Olive Branch, MS, and Little Sis Pearlie (Theosie) McKinzie of Covington, GA.  A host of nieces and nephews and great and great-great.  Aunt Leslie Bell McKinzie and Uncle Lawrence McKinzie.  Danny did not have kids of own, but he was a father figure to many and a Dad to some.  To many friends to name.

He will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery of Corinth at a later date due to COVID19.
