Bigbee— Albert McAfee, 85, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at NMMC-Gilmore in Amory. He was born at home in Bigbee on April 22, 1935 to Daniel Roland and Tamera Blackstone McAfee.
Albert married the love of his life, Bertha Crews McAfee, and together they raised six children. He taught his family the value of hard work and the love of Jesus Christ. Throughout his life, he worked as a mechanic in auto repair. A hardworking, honest man, he lived his life with purpose and passed along wisdom and perseverance to his family. Albert will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind his children, Janice McAfee Mills, Terry McAfee, Sherry Turner, Gary McAfee, James McAfee, Jeffery McAfee; a host of beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Mae Crews McAfee; and grandson, Aaron Mills.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2020 at New Home Cemetery in Itawamba County, with John Ward officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert’s sons and grandsons.
