Elsie Oneda Davis Downs, 92, passed away Friday, April 30, 2020 at the Landmark Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Booneville, MS. She was born on July 13, 1927 to Walter and Irene Perrigo Davis. She spent her entire life in the Pisgah community, was a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church, and taught in the Headstart for forty-two years. Mrs. Downs loved her family, church, community, and everyone she came in contact with, especially the innumerable children she impacted through the Headstart program.

Oneda is survived by her three children; Stanley and Randy Downs, and Rhonda Ballard; four grandchildren, Chad Ballard (Amanda), Bryan Ballard (DeAnna), Koda Downs, Samantha Fenton, and granddaughter-in-law Marti Downs; eighteen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Hoyt Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; four brothers, Hoyle, Burton, Martin, and Troy Davis; two sisters, Billie Spencer and Ouida Wren; two daughters-in-law, Marla Downs and Jackie Downs; one son-in-law, Keith Ballard; two grandchildren, Patrick Downs and Dana Smith.

A Graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Pisgah Methodist Cemetery with Mr. Bill Wimberley, Bro. Donny Davis, and Bro. Danny Estes speaking.

Pallbearers will be Keith Kelly, Jimmy Maddox, Jacky Perrigo, Ray Vuncannon, Sambo White, Marty Holley, and Chad Potts.
