Bobby Gene Townsend

Mr. Bobby Gene Townsend, 46, transitioned on Saturday, May 2, 2020 in Oxford, MS. He was born on March 5, 1974 in Water Valley, MS, to the late Mr. RC Townsend and Mrs. Sandra Harris. Bobby was a 1992 graduate of Water Valley High School. After graduating he went to work for Universal Steele for five years and later started working in the restaurant business.

Bobby united in Holy Matrimony to Josephine Gipson in 2001 whom he loved until his death. Bobby was a very warmhearted man who touched the lives of many young and old people. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and going fishing.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife: Josephine Townsend of Oxford, MS. His mother: Sandra (Levo) Harris of Water Valley, MS. Four sons: Bobby Townsend, Jr., of Coffeeville, MS, Jeremy Gipson, Justin Gipson and Kerry Gipson all of Oxford, MS. Two daughters: Salena Buck and Kim Gipson both of Oxford, MS. Four brothers: Raymond Townsend, Jr., of Coffeeville, MS, Keith Woodard, Tracy (Linda) Townsend and Tony Townsend all of Water Valley, MS. Five sisters: Mary Jane (Kieth) Pegues of Oxford, MS, Joyce (Alan) Cosby, Linda White, Sandra (Wayne) Spearman and Missy Woodard Alford all of Water Valley, MS. His Grandmother: Clisten Hervey. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his son: Grant Townsend, his father: RC Townsend and his grandmother: Geneva Polk.
