Sophie Rae Alexander, 9 months, died peacefully on May 16, 2020, at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN. A private graveside service will be held in Browning Cemetery on Monday, May 18, 2020, with Rev. Don Shaffer officiating. The family invites extended family and friends to attend her service through Facebook Live beginning at 11:00 on the Facebook page of Waller Funeral Home.
Sophie Rae was born at Baptist Memorial Hospital North MS in Oxford on September 3rd, 2019. She was a 7-pound bundle of joy. During her life she, was transferred several times and ended up at LeBonheur for the remaining 7 months of her life. She enjoyed watching her mobile and her YouTube videos of Jungle Book. She loved to be talked to and, of course, had to be held or she got sassy. She was known by all at LeBonheur as the “Magical Unicorn” due to her many problems that had never been seen or dealt with before. She was loved more than words can say in her short time here and will leave an empty place in our hearts forever.
Survivors include her parents, Blair Jones and Raymond Alexander both of Oxford; a sister, Lilleigh Alexander of Oxford; her grandparents, Randy And Dee Jones of Oxford, Daryl and Tracey South of Oxford, Felecia Walters of Water Valley, Raymond Alexander of Batesville and Jessica Alexander of Batesville and her great-grandparents, Donnis and Laura South of Batesville, Barbara Nolan of Sardis, Sharon and Danny Dickey of Oxford and Richard and Sherry Jenkins of Jacksonville, FL.
