Charles Edward Cain, 89, of Banner departed from this life on May 19, 2020 at Baptist Calhoun Nursing Home in Calhoun City. Born on August 28, 1930 in the Sarepta Community, Charles was a son to the late Hollis Emmett Cain and Ethel Leachman Cain.

Charles was a jack of all trades and wasn’t afraid to work, like the rest of his generation he knew the value of hard work in every aspect of life. Charles was not only a founding member of Cain and Cain Logging, but also the Bruce Transport Company. Charles also spent many hours tending to his crops and cattle. Charles knew the Lord and worshiped him at Sarepta Baptist Church.

Charles leaves behind an expansive family to carry his beloved memory in their hearts; two sons: Tommy Edward Cain, and Charles Randy Cain (Rowena); one daughter, Annette Cain Ruth (Tony); one brother, Kenneth Cain; four sister: Katie Goodwin, Martha Corington, Barbara Lantrip, and Carolyn Hallman; six grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Cain, Tracey (Ben) Liles, Cicely (Brantney) Cox, Randi (Brent) Warner, Kellie (Eddie) Logan, and Chris (Christina) Woodall; fifteen great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife, Etoyle Burgess Cain; parents, Hollis Emmett Cain and Ethel Leachman Cain; son, James Lanny Cain; three sisters: Ruthell Norwood, Celestine Dye, Johnnie Weeks; daughter-in-law, Sandra Cain; grandson, Tony Woodall.

A funeral service remembering Charles’s life will take place 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2020 in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce, Bro. Craig McCormick and Bro. Darrell Logan will officiate the service. C.J Bowling, Jason Cain, Jordan Cain, Brantney Cox, Caiden Cox, Christian Cox, Austyn Edwards, Landyn Edwards, Ben Liles, Benson Liles, Eddie Logan, Sutton Logan, Brent Warner, Chris Woodall and Zachary Woodall will carry Charles to rest in the Bruce Cemetery. Gary Paul Adams, Maurice Adams, Terry Dean Cain, Tony Mac Cain, David Dye, Gerald Dye, Jim Dye, Lavon Dye, Roger Dye, Bill Goodwin, Jr. Hillhouse, Lanny Hillhouse, John Hollis Kisner, Johnny Norwood, and Larry Wayne Parker will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

In lieu flowers the family asks that memorials be given to the Sarepta Baptist Church Building Fund,132 CR 175, Randolph, MS. 38864.

We will be allowing small family groups and limited persons at visitation, funerals and gravesides until this crisis is over.

We do ask that those at risk or those not feeling well stay at home, but reach out to the family via the memorial webpage on www.parkermemorialfuneralhomes.com.  Also we are listing family addresses where you may reach out to them and send them a card or a note of encouragement in their time of loss.  Flowers and expressions of sympathy are still being accepted.

We also ask those who are attending visitation and funeral services to follow the CDC recommendations to take the usual steps to help prevent the spread of illness. Social distancing is very important in the control of the spread of this virus.
