A private family graveside service for Vera Mae Nelms Dixon, 85, are set for Sunday at Henry Cemetery, with Rev. Waring Porter officiating.
Vera died at her home on May 28, 2020 after a long illness. She was born January 20, 1935 in Alcorn Co. MS to the late Cranford and Lillie Nelms. She graduated from Kossuth High School in 1955, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a housewife, a devoted mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Michael Dixon; and her parents.
She is survived by her husband for almost 60 years, Joe Dixon; son, Timothy Dixon; daughter, Diane Kimmons (Mike); daughter-in-law, Patsy Dixon; her grandchildren, Morgan Crum (Jacob), Madison Welzbacher and Reid Dixon; sisters, Bertha Lawson, Nadine Derryberry; brother, Edward Nelms (Brenda); and host of other family and friends.
