Opal Faye Reece, 90, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at Cornerstone Nursing and Rehabilitation in Corinth, MS. She was born in Prentiss County on March 17, 1930, to William Joseph Penny and Georgia Bell Sartin Penny. Opal enjoyed singing, taking care of her animals, and spending time with her family and private nursing.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM June 2, 2020, at Booneville Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Hill and Bro. Orvil Nichols officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until service time. Burial will be in the Cain’s Chapel Cemetery. Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by daughter, Cathy (Eddie) Cheatham of Marietta, MS.; grandson, Joseph Cheatham of Marietta, MS.; granddaughters, Kimberly Cheatham of Marietta, MS.; Haley Reece of Booneville, MS.; great-granddaughter, Brooke Reynolds of Booneville, MS.; and a great-grandson,Levi Cox of Booneville, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Reece; a son, David Reece; a grandson, Frankie Reece; sisters, Vera Nicoles and Ruth Shamburger.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Cheatham, Brad Cox, Joseph Cheatham and John Pate.
