Mavis Gilliam, 81, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Diversicare of Amory after a lengthy illness. She was born May 15, 1938, in Walker County, Alabama to Jessie and Verna Mae Williams Criddle. She was a graduate of Aberdeen High School. She as a member of First Baptist Church, Tupelo and a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Private Graveside Services were held at Lee Memorial Park.

She is survived by her children, Lesa Armstrong (Neil) of Amory and Mike Pettigrew (Jennifer) of Tupelo; one sister, Josephine Williams of Tupelo; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Melvin Criddle, Marie McAllister and Elvin Criddle.
