Christopher O'Neil “Chris” Brown, 24, transitioned on Saturday, June 13, 2020 in Fulton, MS.

Chris was born to David Turnage and Letonia Brown Strong on Wednesday, June 12, 1996 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany. Chris gave his life to Christ and was a member of Living Word Faith Center in New Albany under the leadership of Pastor Steven R. Woods.

He was a kind and compensated person who loved to fish. He was also a member of Brotherhood Bass Club and a clown. Chris loved to make people laugh, and he had a smile that would light up a room. He also loved pit bulls especially Homeboy. He also loved to play football and run track.

He leaves to cherish his memories: one son: Legend James Brown His Father: David Turnage (Robin), his mother: Letonia Strong (Willie) one grandmother: Shelia Turnage, one grandfather: Kent Brown (Janice) ,two great grandmothers: Georgia Mae Parks and Hilda Knowles, one great great grandmother: Viola Scruggs, three brothers James Turnage, Jessie Turnage, Jonathan Turnage, two sisters: Faye Turnage (Tevin)(Grayson & Brooklyn), Erriyana Turnage.

Four step brothers: Derron Fant, LeKendrick Strong, Bryce Strong, and DeK’vion Strong, one step sister Eboni Strong, two aunts: Melissa Turnage, Tanesha Jones (Emanuel) one step aunt: April Buford, aka aunt: Jessica Bradley (Derek) two uncles: Jonathan Traylor, Kenneth Brown one step uncle: Tyrone Vaughn, God parents: Domonique Hall, Chris Buford, and Brinkley Taylor A host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by a grandfather: James Earl Turnage, a grandmother: Edwina Usher Brown, great grandparents: D.C. and Bessie Rucker, Willie Earl Miller, and Herman Wayne Payton, godmother: Virginia Mosley Cook, very special tt: Pearl Jones.

His extended family includes but not limited to: Cortez Cook, Monique McDonald, Amber and Aleshia Gardner, Raynon Finley Jr. Sam Smith, Keshaun, Terry, and LaTonya Ball, Larenz Jones, Tyrone Vance, Adalis Bynum, Cedric Buford, Jarel Lipsey, Issac Turner, Jamal Cook, and Austin Cook.

Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.
