Billy Jay Ashmore, Jr., 63, died Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at his home in Taylor, MS. The funeral service will be Saturday, June 20, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of McComb with Dr. Woody Rimes officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:00 Noon at the church. In honor of Billy’s love for his country, the family requests that those in attendance wear red, white, and blue. *In accordance with guidelines issued by the State of Mississippi, social distancing guidelines will be followed and face coverings should be worn. If you or someone living with you is experiencing fever, cough or other symptoms related to COVID 19, have tested positive for COVID 19 or are awaiting test results for COVID 19, we kindly ask that you do not attend. Additionally, and for your safety and the safety of others, if you are immunocompromised or have been told you fall into a high-risk health category, we kindly ask that you not attend.*

Born in Baton Rouge, LA, Billy’s devotion to God was expressed in his faithful Christian walk and in his devotion to his family. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Oxford, MS. His wife and children were the pride of his life and he was known to brag on them continuously to anyone who would listen! He found great joy in spending time with his family. Billy was a proud patriot who loved and supported his country in any way possible. He was an avid coin collector and treasured his coin collection. Additionally, Billy loved riding motorcycles, fishing, and golfing. He is preceded in death by his father, Billy Jay Ashmore, Sr.; his mother, Audrey Faye Floyd Hansen and two sisters, Sherry Lou Clark and Nan Ford Pitre.

Survivors of Billy include his wife, Connie Ashmore of Taylor, MS; two daughters, Ashley Ashmore of Taylor, MS and Alisha Ashmore Lee and her husband, Michael of Liberty, MS; two sons, Bradley Ashmore of Taylor, MS and Bryan Ashmore and his wife, Alyssa, of Ocean Springs, MS; one nephew, Michael J. Clark and his wife, Amy of Walker, LA; one brother, Wesley Ashmore, and his wife, Claire of Walker, LA;  one sister, Kristi Ansonia and her husband, Jeff of Baton Rouge, LA; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Judie Crane of Liberty, MS; and three grandchildren, Gabriel Lee, Harvey Ashmore, and Myles Ashmore.
