J. C. Mims
Columbus, MS – J.C Mims, 81, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020. He was born in Greenwood, MS on March 11, 1939, the son of the late Charlie Ross and Annie Irene Jones Mims. After serving in The United States Army, he worked as a logger for 60 plus years in the family business, Mims Lumber, Co. He was a loving father and grandfather. J.C. could always be found laughing and joking with everyone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie, Jr. and Bobby Joe Mims, two sisters: Margaret Foster and Gracie Varner and his daughter, Toni Daphane Jones.
Due to current health concerns, a private family graveside service will be Sunday, June 28, 2020, from Greenwood Cemetery in West Point with Ronnie Keating officiating.
Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters, Teresa Proffitt (Cambell) of Columbus, Connie Millsaps (Kenneth) of West Point and Deborah Hill (Ricky) of Columbus, one son, Randy Mims, Cleveland, OH , seven Grandchildren and seven Great-Grandchildren, one sister, Corrinne Ham of Whitkers, North Carolina.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Keating, Edward Jones, Ricky Hill, Kenneth Millsaps, Austin Hill, Chris Foreman.
