Missionary “Mother ”Lukie Mae Williams Hill, 85, of Ashland, Mississippi, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at Alliance Healthcare System in Holly Springs, Mississippi.  She was born April 6, 1935, to Shelly and Lizzie Williams in Hopewell, Mississippi.

Mother Hill professed hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of Elliot Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Benton County, Mississippi. She became a member of Hardaway Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Senior Choir member and a Mother on the Mothers Board.  Later, she was led by God to start a mission in her home that later became St. Luke Church of God In Christ, in Ashland Mississippi.  There she served as a Mother as well as the founder.  In 1990, she assisted in founding New Beginning Church of God In Christ, where she served until her death.

On May 16, 1953, she married Johnny Rome Hill, Sr. and from this union seven children were born.  She attended Bolivar Industrial High School where she was an honor student.

Mother Hill was employed with Benton County Schools for thirty-one years.  She began her career as a pastry cook and later became Nutrition Services Manager.  She retired August 2000 and began working full time in the ministry.

Mother Hill was preceded in death by her husband Johnny R. Hill and is survived by: Five daughters, JoAnne Strickland (Sammy), Ashland, MS, Ruthie B. Hill, Ashland, MS, Johnnie Ann Scales, Olive Branch, MS, Lukie M. Taylor (LaRoy), Olive Branch, MS, and Dorothy T. Conway, Bartlett, TN; two sons, Larry G. Hill (Sharron), Ashland, MS and Johnny R. Hill, Jr. (Carolyn), Corinth, MS.  She had sixteen grandchildren, threegrandchildren that she raised as her children- Cordia C. Hill,Olive Branch, MS, Rodney S. Braddic (Frederick), Memphis, TN,and Joyce A. Felts (Vernon), Columbus, OH; twenty-four great-grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Jennie Mae Anderson, Jackson, TN, Bernice Beard, Jackson, TN, and Betty Rivers, Hickory Valley, TN, and a host of nieces and nephews.
