Jeanette “Buck“ Johnson, age 50, of Water Valley, MS died tragically Sunday, July 12, 2020 at her home from domestic violence. She was born July 31, 1969 in Water Valley to Annie Lou Johnson, and the late Tom Jenkins. Jeanette was a very active young lady when she attended Water Valley High. She was a cheerleader, participated in track and played basketball. After graduating in 1990, she attended Arkansas Community college where she received an Associates Degree in nutrition. Jeanette was the Dietary Manager at the Yalobusha County Hospital and Nursing home, where she had worked for twenty-four years. She loved singing, cooking and baking, which included her favorite, strawberry cake. But nothing meant more to her than her family.
Jeanette was a member of Union Hill CME Church where she led the Choir, and had served as secretary.
Left behind to cherish her memory is one son, Thomas Johnson of Oxford, MS; one daughter, Angelica Johnson of Water Valley, MS; three brothers, Richard Jenkins of Colorado, Dewayne Jenkins (Apryl) of Hattiesburg, MS, Gerrick Cunningham (Shannon) of Grenada, MS.
As well as her father, and brother Tommy Jenkins Jr. preceding her in death, Jeanette died along side of her daughter Brianna.
Visitation is planned for Sunday July 26, 2020 in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A graveside service will take place at Union Grove Church Cemetery Monday, July 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM.
Seven Oaks Funeral Home’s number one priority during these unprecedented times, is the health of our staff, our families, our visitors, and our community. With this in mind, we are adhering to guidelines set forth by the CDC, Gov. Tate Reeves, and the Mississippi Department of Health. At this time, we are asking everyone to support the limited gathering and visitation policies mandated by our government officials, which include a maximum of 10 people in the funeral home, or alternate place of service, at one time for visitations and funerals, or 20 people at graveside services. We are also asking everyone to comply with the required social distancing space of six feet, as well as advising against intimate contact such as, hand-shaking, hugging, and kissing. Although it is not presently required, we are encouraging the use of face masks.
