James R. "Bobby" Harmon

Cedar Bluff, Mississippi – James R. "Bobby" Harmon, 81, passed in peace on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at his residence in Cedar Bluff, Mississippi. His was born March 26, 1939 in “Happy Hollow” at his Grand Daddy Caradine’s house located in Clay County. He married Barbara Ann Cartee Harmon on February 25, 1961 in West Point, MS. He was a devoted member and deacon at Enon Baptist Church in the Big Springs Community. Bobby was a veteran of the National Guard Army and served with the headquarters company of the 223rd engineering battalion in West Point, MS. He was retired from B & W Boilermaker Company where he worked as a welder for 33 years. He enjoyed racing and working on cars as well as hunting and fishing.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 31, 2020, at 10:00 AM at Enon Baptist Church with Bro. John Dendy officiating and assisted by Reverend Danny Avery. Burial will follow in Enon Baptist Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to handle the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife Barbara Ann Harmon of Cedar Bluff; two daughters, Karen Cliett (Timmy) and Cindy Terry (Steve) of Cedar Bluff, one son, Alen Harmon of Starkville, eight grandchildren: Chris Cliett (Erica), Stephanie Harpole, Savannah and Cody Terry, Zach, Kerri and Alex Harmon and Bryan Scherrer, one great-granddaughter: Anna Marie Harpole, one brother Billy Harmon (Barbara) of West Point. He was preceded in death by his parents: Edith Caradine Harmon and James William Harmon.

Pallbearers will be Steve Terry, Cody Terry, Chris Cliett, Zach Harmon, Timmy Cliett, Max Eberhardt.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Neal Myers, Charles Clanton, Larry Parker, Dr. Edmund Miller, Dr. Phillips, O.M. Johnson, Alan Pennington and Jimmy Morris, Sr.

Visitation will be 9:00 AM until service time at Enon Baptist Church. There will be an opportunity for “Drive By” condolences at the church as well.
