Ms. Irish Shuntell Jones, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter and sister at the graceful age of 50, transitioned from this life at Methodist South Hospital in Memphis, TN on July 25, 2020. She was the eldest born of Gwendolyn Jones and the late Lawerance Payne on January 25, 1970 in Victoria, MS.
Nesting her family in Memphis, TN, she worked for Methodist Central Hospital. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the choir. After she was no longer able to work, she enjoyed cooking, singing, spending time with her children and grandchildren and sharing countless laughing sessions with anyone she came in contact with.
To have known her is to have truly loved her! Her sense of humor and heart of gold will be greatly missed.
Irish leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Brittany Hill (Memphis, TN) and Porsha Jones (Byhalia, MS); five sons, Terron Jones (Byhalia, MS), Alvin Jones (Memphis, TN), Jermal Jones (Byhalia, MS), Terrell Jones (Memphis, TN) and Jeremiah Jones (Memphis, TN); one sister, Trangula Jones- Glover (Marcus- Cordova, TN); two half- sisters, Terrina Campbell (Georgia), Katrina Crutcher (Memphis, TN); one half-brother, Lawrence Payne, Jr. (Memphis, TN); 12 grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mac and Mattie Lou Jones; her Aunt Tressie Rayford and husband Johnnie Rayford, Aunt Mable Freeman and husband Claude Lee Freeman Jr.; favorite Uncle Albert Jones and wife Dorothy Jones; cousins Sylvia Bryson and her son Lee Bryson, Shelia Young, Donald Rayford, Lorna Dean Malone and Teresa Rayford.
Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 11a.m. at McCraven Cemetery in Victoria, MS. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 31, 2020 from 4-6p.m. st Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Holly Springs.

Dear Jones family, you have my deepest sympathy. The loss of a loved one brings great sorrow and pain, that can be hard to deal with, but you are not alone. At 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 it says “The God of all comfort, comforts us in all our trials”, so you can gain comfort from God and his word the bible. Also Acts24:15 says “There is going to be a resurrection ” so you can see your loved one again. And this is a promise from our loving God. I hope this was a source of encouragement to the family.
