Michael Everett Phillips, 48, died Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, TN. A celebration of life will take place at Pirate Adventures’ parking lot at 6:30pm on Friday, July 31, 2020. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in West Covina, CA to Everett and Ilnorme Phillips, Michael worked for Environmental Services as a Trash and Linen Tech at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He is best known for the caring and love he showed to the families and children that came into his family owned business, Pirate Adventures.  Prior to working at the hospital, he spent several years as a cart pusher at Walmart. He loved watching WWE wrestling, horse racing, the Dodgers play ball, Martial Arts movies and listening to music. But nothing could top his love for his mother’s cheesecake!

He is survived by his parents, Everett and Ilnorme Phillips of Water Valley, MS; sister, Missy Dickerson and her husband, Tom, of Water Valley, MS; two nephews, Trevor Dickerson and Hunter Dickerson, both of Water Valley, MS; aunt, Joan Cox of Alameda, CA; and too many cousins to count.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name;

thy kingdom come;

thy will be done;

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation;

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

the power and the glory,

for ever and ever.

Amen.

  1. Dear Phillips family, you have my deepest sympathy. The loss of a loved one brings great sorrow and pain that can be hard to deal with, but you are not alone. At 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 it says “The God of all comfort, comforts us in all our trials”, so you can gain comfort from God and his word the bible. Also Acts24:15 says “There is going to be a resurrection ” so you can see your loved one again. And this is a promise from our loving God. I hope this was a source of encouragement to the family.
