Starkville, MS – Samuel Shannon "Sam" Love, Jr., 76, was born on November 15, 1943 and passed away on August 24, 2020 at OCH Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Samuel Shannon Love and Lucille Reed Love. Sam graduated from Starkville High School and attended MSU. He was a member of Osborn Presbyterian Church. He served in the Dixie Division of the Mississippi National Guard. Sam loved his family and friends and his MSU Bulldogs. Sam's Celebration of Life will be graveside with immediate family at a date yet to be determined.
Sam is survived by two sisters: Linda Love Necaise of Kiln, MS and Janet Love Bardwell (Gary) of Starkville, two brothers: William W. Love (Trina) and James Alec Love all of Starkville, several nieces and nephews as well as great nephews and niece and one sister-in-law: Sylvia West Love.
Preceding him in death were his parents: Samuel Shannon Love and Lucille Reed Love, one brother: Raymond E. Love and three nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to your church or a charity of your choice.
