Her journey began on November 8, 1952 in Prentiss County. It ended September, 2020 She was the youngest of five children and attended school at Lee-Prentiss. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Baldwyn, MS. Nellie was a faithful servant in her church by being an active member of the Angelic Choir, Mass Choir and the Usher Ministry. Nellie loved watching TV, baking, mowing the
yard and talking to people.
Nellie’s loving memory will be cherished by her
sisters and brothers: Joseph (Norma) Billips of
Raymond, MS, Jonathan Billips of Baldwyn, MS,
Olevia Billips of Jackson, MS, Bessie Lowe of
Baldwyn, MS, Alice Starks of Mantee, MS, Lorene
(John) Friar of Baldwyn, MS, Bobbie (Mark)
Williamson of Tupelo, MS, Stacy (John) Ivy of
Shannon, MS; aunts: Lena Mae Billups of Baldwyn,
MS, Annie Billips of Chicago, IL; two sisters-in-law:
Crissy Billups and Lucy Billips of Guntown, MS and
many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, William
C. Billips, mother, Quillar Billups, step-mother,
Allene McGee Billips, three brothers, W.C. Billups,
Jimmy Billups and Leamon Billups and sister, Mary
J. Billups.
