Franklin D. Nix, 77, passed this earthly life, Monday, September 28, 2020 at Baptist Nursing Home, Calhoun City after an extended illness. He was born May 18, 1943 in Big Creek to the late parents of Joe Bailey Nix and Annie Louise Hamilton Nix. Frank was an active member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church where he served his church and church family faithfully. He retired from Kellwood Company after many years of service there. Frank took a special interest in his family and friends, he was always there for them in good times or more difficult times in life. He was a caring and compassionate person who loved everyone he came in contact with.
He was preceded in by his parents, a son, Don Franklin Nix, sister, Nancy Lambert, brothers, Leslie Joe Nix and George Wesley Nix.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Dessie Melton Nix, whom he married October 12, 1962, Calhoun City; brother, David Earl Nix, Calhoun City; sister, Louise Annette Ivy, Calhoun City and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home from 2:00 P.M. until graveside service time at 4:00P.M. at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Bro. Steven Conlee will be conducting the graveside service. Pallbearers will be Warren Jackson, Charlie Lambert, Bryan Nix, Chipper Nix, Christopher Nix, Elijah Nix, Jeff Nix, Paul Nix and Steven Nix.
