Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Arlene Watson Mathis, 94, died Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will be Sunday, October 11, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Family Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in Eastover Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 11:30 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mathis was born in Centerville, MS to the late Minnie Quick and William Edgar Watson and was a longtime member of Midway Methodist Church. She retired from Kellwood Factory and enjoyed spending her days gardening and cooking for her family.  She was known for her amazing homemade biscuits and delicious chocolate pie. She loved her Lord and served her family as a loving mother, wife and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she way preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Clarence Mathis and a son in law, Johnny McCoy.

Survivors include her daughter, Wanell M. McCoy of Oxford; a son, Roy W. Mathis and his wife, Debra of Crestview, FL; a granddaughter, Tracie Mathis; two step grandchildren, Sharon DuBrueler and Steven McCoy and three step great-grandchildren.
