Mother Erma M. Vance was born on December 25, 1925, to the late Jim Perry and Allie Hill.  She professed her hope in Christ at an early age and joined Little Red Oak, which was changed later to Red Oak M.B. Church of Tupelo, MS.

She was a member of Queen Thompson Court 258. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

She started working at Long’s Laundry at an early age until they closed, and she also worked at North Mississippi Medical Center until she retired.

She leaves to cherish her four children:  Ruby Wade, Danny (Mary) Vance, Johnny (Mae Frances) Vance, Overia (Otis) Collier all of Pontotoc, MS, three brothers: Milton (Dorothy) Hill, Wilbert Millbrook, Larry (Diane) Middlebrook and one sister: Irene (Vurel) Mabry all of Tupelo, MS, special acknowledgement to her best friend, Armentra Gilmore of Tupelo, MS, 30 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Vance, daughter Lizzie Mae Vance Shumpert, grandson, granddaughter and two sons-in-law.

Graveside Service will take place on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 11a.m. at Red Oak Grove M.B. Church Cemetery in Tupelo, MS. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 4-6p.m. at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc.
