Larry Dean Murphree,67, passed from this life on Monday, October 26, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. Born on September 5, 1953, in New Castle, Wyoming, Larry was a son to the late Bobby Dean Murphree and Carolyn Williams Murphree.

Larry, a devoted father and husband, spent many seasons of his life with his bride, Sandra Hinton Murphree, by his side. The couple spent timeless years together filled many precious memories.

Larry found a career with American Furniture as a supervisor until retirement called his name. With retirement came spare time and he used this new found time to enjoy God’s creation, the great outdoors. While enjoying the outdoors Larry could be found awaiting a deer in hopes of a good hunt. Alongside deer hunting Larry enjoyed coasting the roadways on his motorcycle. As a faithful servant to God and minister of His word Larry was a member at Point of Faith Church in New Albany, Mississippi. Larry didn’t simply pass away he held in his soul the cure to death, a relationship with the Lord.

Larry leaves behind a loving family to carry his memory in their hearts: devoted wife Sandra Gail Hinton Murphree;  son Justin (Mallory) Murphree of Randolph, Mississippi, daughter Deanna (Aaron) Myhand of Ecru, Mississippi, two sisters: Nanci (Joel) Gray of Houlka, Mississippi, Gail Cornelius of Oneonta, Alabama, and  three grandchildren: Alauna Myhand, Garrison Myhand, Brady Dean Murphree.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Dean Murphree and Carolyn Williams Murphree.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM. The funeral service remembering Larry’s life will take place in the Chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at 2:00 PM. With Pastor Russell Trimm officiating. Brody Cornelius, Joel Gray, Joseph Gray, Bobby Lynn Hinton, Bobby Ray Hinton, Garrison Myhand, Junior Warren, and D.L. Winter will carry Larry to his resting place in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
