Sharon Gail Pugh Laney

August 15, 1941 ~ November 3, 2020

Mrs. Sharon Gail Pugh Laney, 79, died Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will be Saturday, November 7, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Burnett officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12:00 noon.

Born on August 15, 1941, to the late Clarence Edward Pugh and Marlys Ramona Romunder Pugh King, Mrs. Laney was a former member of First Baptist Church of Greenville and a current member of First Baptist Church of Oxford. She was a homemaker, a loving mother and a devoted wife of 59 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Laney; two brothers, James Pugh and Robert Pugh and her step-father, Arthur King.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Fredric Laney of Water Valley, MS; a daughter, Fonda Laney Rowland and her husband, Gary of Greenville, MS; a son, Michael Edward Laney and his girlfriend, Liz of Leland, MS; a step-sister, Ann King of Lakeland, FL; three step-brothers, Wayne King of Atlanta, GA, David King of Ft. Meyers, FL and Fred King of Arizona; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Laney’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Our loving Heavenly Father can give you the comfort you need to get through this. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 says “The God of all comfort, comforts us in all our trials” so He is here to help you.
