Mr. Clinton Richard Mooney, 73, died on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital North-Mississippi in Oxford, MS. The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 22, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. at Anchor Baptist Church with Rev. David Ard and Rev. Wayne Clayton officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 21, 2020, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Anchor Baptist Church and again prior to the service beginning at 1:30 P.M. Burial will follow in Anchor Baptist Church Cemetery. Anchor Baptist Church will air a live stream of the service through their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/anchorbaptistoxford .

Born in Lafayette Co. to the late David and Lillie Mooney, MS, Mr. Mooney served in the Army National Guard as an E-6. He worked for Callahan Charters and Cline Tours as a bus driver. Mr. Mooney retired from his position of Quality Director from Borgwarner after 35 years.  Through his hard work, he became the beloved driver for the Ole Miss girls’ soccer, softball, and volleyball teams and was an avid and dedicated member of Anchor Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Mooney.

Mr. Mooney is survived by his wife of 52 and a half years, Mary Katherine Mooney of Water Valley, MS; two sons, Rickey Mooney and his wife, Donna of Oxford, MS and Jason Mooney of Banner, MS; 5 grandchildren, Sarah Vance and her husband, Jeremy, Taylor Mooney and his wife, Micah, Anthony Montgomery, Drew Mooney and his wife, Amber, and Lillie-Kate Mooney; and 3 great-grandchildren, Jackson, Harper, and Everleigh.
