Lemmie D. Cowsert, 89, passed away at the NMMC in Tupelo at 1:56pm Sunday November 22, 2020. He was born July 5, 1931, to Lem and Lennar Cowsert. He was married to Ethelene Moss Cowsert for 64 wonderful years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving at the end of the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime member of Cooke Memorial Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher. He loved his Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord's Church, his wonderful wife, daughter, grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at 2:00pm at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Rev. Patrick Collins will officiate. Burial will be in the Old Cooke Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors-wife-Ethelene Cowsert; daughter-Kay Gillespie; grandchildren-Paula Fuqua and Brian Hall; brothers-Duke and Charles Cowsert.
Preceded in death by-parents; brothers-Maurice and Jim Cowsert; sister-Lucille Patterson.
