Nickie Wright
Quitman- Mrs. Nickie Jane Matthis Wright, 72, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at her home in Quitman, Mississippi. She was born in Arkansas to William Monroe “Buddy” Matthis and Emma Dean “Deanie” Nichols Matthis. Mrs. Wright was a retired retail sales associate for many different businesses. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, her cats and watching professional football.
Funeral Services will be held at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. with Dr. Wade Mathis officiating.
Visitation will be at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M.
Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Woodland, Mississippi.
Houston Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Wright is survived by her two daughters, Michelle (Ken) Davis of Quitman, and Sommer Allen Berry of Quitman; her sister, Tammy (Rich) Maschak of Madison, Alabama; her grandchildren, Krystyn Davis, Katelin Davis and her husband, Josh Smith, Steven Melton, Adam Berry, and Kynlee Davis; her great-grandchild, Jackson Knight; and her Niece, Paige (Preston) Bostwick; and her nephews, Chas White, J. P. Freeney, and Ty Freeney.
Mrs. Wright is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Wright; her parents, William Monroe “Buddy” Matthis, and Emma Dean “Deanie” Nichols Matthis; her brother, Alton Monroe Matthis; her maternal grandparents, Alton Leo Nichols and Mary Lena Hill Nichols; and her paternal grandparents, Charles Monroe Matthis and Mattie Jane Rimmer Matthis.
