ECRU – Carroll Ray Stewart, 77, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in New Albany, MS. Ray was born in Ecru, MS on October 11, 1943. Ray joined the Navy at 18 years old and served 32 years before retiring from San Diego, CA and moving back to Pontotoc, MS with his wife and children. In his younger years, he was a deputy sheriff in Pontotoc, MS. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting, traveling, collecting guns and Volkswagen vehicles. Ray was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a loving, kind, honest man that loved his family very much.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 2PM at Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Rev. Kenneth Corley will officiate.
Ray is survived by his wife, Dee Stewart; his daughter, Carol Stewart; his son, Nathan Stewart; grandsons, Beau Briggs and Jackson Stewart; brothers, Randy Stewart(Janice) and Larry Stewart; nieces and nephews, Brandy and Reid Rogers, Emma Jane and Stewart Rogers, John Stewart(Mary), Tucker and Everett Stewart, Ashley and Lucas Stewart, Dennis Stewart, and Levi Stewart; and many other family members.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 12th, 12PM until service time.
