Grady Wilson, 74, passed from this life on December 8, 2020 at the Veterans Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Born on January 8, 1946 in Bruce, Grady was a son to the late William Glen Wilson and Shirley Elaine Wilson.
Grady graduated from North Pontotoc High School in 1963 and later enlisted in the United States Army. Grady faithfully served his country overseas in Germany for several years, all in the name of freedom from oppressive forces. He was actively involved in various veterans’ organizations such as Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion. Grady found a career, spanning over two and a half decades, with the Weyerhaeuser Corporation. Grady didn’t simply pass away; he held the cure to death in his soul, an active relationship with Jesus where he worshiped Him at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
Grady leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in his absence; wife , Dorris Blount Wilson; two sons: James (Kim) Wilson of Pontotoc, Mississippi; Christopher (Tiffany) Wilson of Richmond Hill, Georgia; six grandchildren: Gabe Wilson, Hayes Wilson, Chyanne Wilson, Penny Wilson, Julianna Myers, and Wyatt Wilson; one brother, Pete (Ann) Wilson of Algoma, Mississippi.
Grady was preceded in death by his parents, William Glen Wilson and Shirley Elaine Wilson; two brothers: Eli Glen Wilson, and Billy Joe Wilson .
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The funeral service remembering Grady's life will take place on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM in Chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating. Billy Bagwell, Bob Blount, Mike Blount, Tommy Pennington , Gabe Wilson, and Hayes Wilson will carry Grady to rest in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
