George Webb “Tuffy” Williamson, age 90, of Water Valley, MS ended his earthly journey Thursday, December 10, 2020, at his home with family by his side. He was born June 30, 1930, in Yalobusha County, MS to the late Gilbert and Mildred (Trayser) Williamson. After graduating from high school, Tuffy joined the Marine Corps where he faithfully served our country during the Korean War. After returning to his home town, he worked for Bellsouth, Water Valley Electric Department, and later went to work for, and retired from, the USDA where he traveled the region as a livestock inspector. Tuffy loved fishing, riding horses, watching westerns, but nothing compared to the love he had for his family.
A graveside service to honor Tuffy’s life will be held at 2:00 PM at Pinecrest Memorial Garden, Monday December 14, 2020.
Tuffy is survived by three daughters, Dana Williamson, Kelley Henning, both of Water Valley, Tracy Williamson (Bill) of Olive Branch, MS; two grandchildren, Dylan Dorris, Dakota King; three great grandchildren, Brailee King, Cody Dorris, and Lane Dorris.
Along with his parents, Tuffy was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mary Katherine Williamson; one brother, Taylor Williamson; and one sister, Geanie Williamson Tyler.
