Stephanie Johansen Coghlan, 52, died on December 18, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital North- Mississippi in Oxford, MS.  A Celebration of Life service will be held in West Hall of Waller Funeral Home on December 21, 2020 from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. with the Memorial Service to follow beginning at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Jim Ross officiating. A livestream of the Memorial Service will take place on the Waller Funeral Home Facebook page for those who are unable to attend. Interment will take place at Oxford Memorial Cemetery.

Stephanie was a graduate of Jackson Prep High School in Jackson, MS. She then earned her BA in Business, as well as her MBA, from the University of Mississippi. After graduation, Stephanie worked as the public relations director for the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi. In 2010, she took on her most important role as a new mother, to her daughter, Brooke Batson Coghlan. Stephanie was actively involved in the Oxford Lafayette Humane Society for many years where she also served on the Board of Directors. She was extremely passionate about animals, dogs in particular. All of her own pets are rescues and important members of her family. Stephanie was a great supporter of the arts and had an extensive collection of art from many local artisans as well as many other Mississippi artists.

Stephanie is survived by her husband, Ken Coghlan of Oxford, MS, daughter, Brooke Batson Coghlan of Oxford, MS, stepson, Walker Newton Coghlan of Oxford, MS, siblings, Saunders Johansen of Brandon, MS and Joe Johansen of Brandon, MS, and father, Oscar W. Johansen, IV from the state of Washington and his wife, Beatrice of Brandon, MS. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Williams Gourlay, and stepfather, John Gourlay.
