PONTOTOC – Betty Jo Staten, 81, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at her home. Betty Jo was an active member at Palestine United Methodist Church. She loved working in her yard and spending time with her family. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grands.
She is survived by her son, Larry Staten(Joyce); her grandchildren, Lakyn Gooch(Grant), Doyce Britt, Erica Wagoner(Chris), and Daphne Scribner(Ray); her great-grandchildren, Kye and Lylee Clowers, Shield and Alessandra Britt, Gage Wagoner, Ryder Kate Aston, and Madalyn Staten.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and "Sis" Paterson; her husband, Wayne Staten; her sons, David and Stanley Staten; her daughter, Ann Britt; and her granddaughter, Meagan Britt.
Services will be Thursday, December 24, 2020 at 10AM at Palestine United Methodist Church with Bro. Kerry Powell and Bro. Corey Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Forest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Doyce Britt, Nuke Ward, Leo Mask, Ray Scribner, Kody Clowers, and Braxton Morphis.
Honorary pallbearer will be Chris Wagoner.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 23, 5-8PM and Thursday, December 24, 9AM until service time, all at Palestine United Methodist Church.
