Tupelo – Richard Lynn Johns, 66, died in the evening hours of December 30, 2020 from Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Richard was born on November 24, 1954 to Charles Everett Johns and Mary Katherine Johns. Rick owned Rick’s Chassis for over 20 years and was a master mechanic and body shop repairman He has a passion and love for Harley Davidsons and for his Harley racing bikes. Throughout his life he won many awards and trophies for the racing.
A graveside service celebrating his life will be held at 1 PM Saturday, Jan. 2, 2020 at Tupelo Memorial Park on Joyner St. in Tupelo. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to be serving the family.
Richard leaves behind his wife, Frankie Johns of Tupelo; his sons; Andy Johns and Shane Johns of Tupelo, stepson; Brad Lanphere of Pearl, MS; his sisters, Sheela Hamblin of Tupelo and Gerald Johns ( Penny) of Verona; his nephews and nieces, Tommy Prentice (Kathy) of Starkville and Steven Prentice (Donna) of Land O Lakes, Florida, Scotty Johns (Cory) of Dacula, Ga., Marsha Burchfield (Lanny) of Sherman, Jana Petitt (Keith) of Vardaman, Lori Curtis (Britt) of Mantachie and Tommy Wright (Mary Ruth of Tupelo. one granddaughter, Rowan Merritt Johns, age 4. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers John Johns and Terry Johns and a brother in law, Thomas E. “Skippy” Prentice (Margaret Ann, deceased)) and other relatives.
